Beaches
The sea and sand are second to none. The beach (Bean Point) nearest to the house is very quiet. At low tide you can walk down the island for 7 miles. Access paths are well sign posted and easy to find.

Piers
The Rod and Reel Pier is a few minutes walk, turn right out of the drive then left, it is in front of you. Great for breakfast
Anna Maria Pier is a little further, at the end of Pine Avenue.

Fishing
The waters surrounding Anna Maria Island are a haven for a wide variety of fish. Fishing from the piers or on the beach is common place. Fishing boat trips are available from many companies, most of them are located just on the main land over the Cortez bridge.
Bikes
There are a couple of bikes at Fern Cottage which you are free to use, others can be hired from Beach Bums (Link) which is located on Pine Avenue
Kayaking
Kayaking is a great way to explore the island and its wonderful wildlife. Kayaks can be hired from Beach Bums (Link) which is located on Pine Avenue
